Privacy Policy

Poveyes ("we", "us") operates the poveyes.com website and the Poveyes mobile app, which help people discover local stores through short, first-person (POV) videos. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and how it's handled — for both visitors browsing stores and store owners who manage a listing.

Location. If you grant permission, we use your device's location to show stores near you and calculate distance. This is processed on your device and by your phone's operating system (Apple/Google location services) to resolve your city — we do not store your raw coordinates on our servers.

Usage analytics. We record anonymous usage events — video views, map/search interactions, and clicks like "WhatsApp" or "Directions" — tied to the store or video involved, not to a personal identity. These help store owners see how their listing performs and help us understand what's useful in the app. On the website, we also use Google Analytics for standard traffic measurement; see Google's privacy policy for how they handle that data.

On-device storage. The mobile app doesn't require an account to browse. Your language preference, recently viewed stores, and liked videos are stored only on your device and are cleared if you uninstall the app or clear its storage.

Store owner & admin accounts. If you register as a store owner or admin, we collect your name, email, phone, and business details to manage your listing and verify your identity as the business owner. This is separate from the anonymous consumer experience described above.

• Diagnose bugs and understand which parts of the app are actually used
• Operate store-owner and admin accounts, including verifying claimed listings

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party ad targeting.

We rely on a small number of third-party services to operate Poveyes:

• Google Maps — map rendering and location resolution
• Cloudflare — hosting, content delivery, and image/video storage
• Google Analytics — website traffic analytics only

Each operates under its own privacy policy in addition to this one.

Anonymous usage events are retained to power store-owner analytics and are not tied to an individual visitor. Store owner and admin account data is retained while the account is active. You can request deletion of your account data at any time using the contact details below.

Poveyes is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

We may update this policy as the app changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
